Frugally Festive
Sooooo… Christmas this year has been a little on the tough side money wise… I know, I know, “tell me something I don’t know” right? Well one thing that really cheers me up is crafting, and I really wanted to make something festive even though I knew I couldn’t really afford loads of decorations this year.
I found myself going through literally everything I had trying to find things that went well together. I knew I wanted to make a wreath, but I didn’t have a wreath base. But I DID have a massive heart shaped ornament that used to sit in my toilet with a load of pot pourri…

It needed a makeover so I could love it again.
I’ve been researching cheap Christmas wreath DIYs for some time now, and came across Olivia’s Romantic Home on Youtube. She has now officially become my favourite Christmas crafter! Her entire home is filled with creative DIYs from the Dollar Tree Store, and with a touch of magic she has transformed her home into the most beautiful thing EVER. i was most inspired by this ridiculously over the top wreath, which just screams me! It’s EXTRA DOT COM… and I LOVE IT!
So armed with a handful of random trimmings, a sprinkle of inspiration and a drizzle of luck, I set to work, and created this:

Don’t you just love these colours together? those pine cones were so hard to find! It’s nice to play with different textures. The greenery adds a nice touch. I currently have this on now as I write. Such a lovely glow.
The thing with me is I get really affected when I see things that are aesthetically pleasing, have a beautiful colour palette, or are just super duper extra, and this is all of those things!!! I really hope you love it as much as I do, here is the video so you can see how I did it.
Would love to know what you think! Merry Christmas!
Love Ayesha x
