Life

Motherhood.

Mother’s Day is usually a bit of a tough one for me, seeing as I am estranged from mine. Very long story short, she and I didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of things, but when it got to the stage where it was starting to interfere with my pregnancy I had to let go. That was hard. I reached out when Riley was born, only for her to take 3 days to respond to me, and to then proceed to tell me down the phone, that she wished she’d “flung me in a mental institution where I belong”…straight into my 4 day old son’s ears…(she was on loudspeaker, and those words will forever ring loud in my ears too.) So, I haven’t seen her since becoming a mother, and haven’t had the opportunity to share that amazing bond I’m supposed to have. That bond broke years ago. So as I said, usually it’s tough.

But the great thing is, now I can break the chain, and be the best I can for Riley. He will always be loved, no matter what. Luckily, my mother in law is amazing. All kinds of amazing in fact. So Riley and I went to town to select some things for her and created a little hamper. She loved it very much, especially as a lot of it was chosen by Riley.

Superhero duck theme….because…why not?]
Thrilled!

Mike got me the most beautiful rainbow flowers ever… and a set of rainbow kitchen utensils, which I absolutely LOVE! I used them to make some fried “chicken” pronto!

RRRaaaaiiinnnbboooowww!
Such a gorgeous colour!
mmm…tastes like chicken…I’m not joking it really does!

Also, my lovely friend Chi Chi and her beautiful daughter Robin came round for a playdate this week, which was so wonderful! Riley adores her, and hasn’t stopped talking about her since!

Fun times!

Safe to say I’ve had a lovely week, filled with the joys of motherhood!
See you next week!

Love Ayesha x
